Alexei lives in a small village in Russia. He is partially paralyzed due to a stroke and struggles to move freely around his home. After the stroke, Alexei did not receive any support from his family and felt extremely neglected by his loved ones. This pain turned into bitterness towards everyone in his life—including God. Alexei became convinced that his life had no meaning.

One day, we had the opportunity to visit Alexei’s village. We approached him and began speaking about Jesus. At first, Alexei was very aggressive asking, “Where was your God when I became paralyzed? ” 

But as we spoke about God’s great love, the Holy Spirit began to fill the hole in Alexei’s heart. Through tears, he explained that he had never known this kind of love, and had grown to believe God had cursed him. We encouraged Alexei to pray, and he nodded his head immediately. As we lay our hands on his paralyzed legs, the presence of the Lord surrounded us. And while we did not see physical healing that day, we rest assured Alexei’s soul was healed for eternity!
