The Good News

God created us because He loves us, because He wants us, and because He is a giver by nature. God didn’t create us just to worship Him; He was complete within Himself before we ever got here. We worship Him as a response of love to the love He has for us ( 1 John 4:19 ).

When the first man and woman sinned and broke their relationship with God ( Genesis 3 ), God could have abandoned us on earth and started again somewhere else in the universe—but He didn’t.

Because His love for us is relentless, He moved toward us AGAIN. The entire Bible is an incredible love story about how the Creator set a plan in motion to be united again with His creation.

God loves you so deeply that He wrote Himself into the narrative of human history by coming to Earth in the form of Jesus. Our sin separates us from God. But He refused to be separated from us forever, so He came in the form of Jesus to reunite us with Himself. We didn’t need a teacher to show us how to live, as many claim. There were already plenty of those. We didn’t need more laws to “get it right,” because we already had those—and couldn’t keep them. We needed a Saviour.

Jesus came to pay the price for our sin, reconciling us to God. The good news is that it’s what He did, not what we do, that saves us. This is the message of the good news of the gospel to you.

We invite you to read the book of John in the Bible so you can decide for yourself who He was—and who He is to you. Download the NewLife app for your smartphone today. The app includes a full Bible for you to read whenever and wherever you want.

God Loves You

God Loves You

God hasn’t just said He loves you, but has shown how much He loves you by sending His Son to live the perfect life you could not live, and die in your place.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
JOHN 3:16

All are Sinners

All are Sinners

God is perfect and deserves to be honoured, but we have all failed to live as we should. We are all sinners.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
ROMANS 3:23

As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one.”
ROMANS 3:10

God's Plan to Save Us

God's Plan to Save Us

We all deserve to die and be cut off from God because we have sinned—but God had a plan! He sent His Son as a free gift for us, so that all who believe and accept His Son, can be forgiven! God’s Son is Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and was risen to life for you. God has made a way for you to know Him, and this “way” is Jesus.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
ROMANS 6:23

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
JOHN 1:12

YOUR RESPONSE

When we realize we have sinned against God, the next step is to apologize. Confess to God that you have wronged him, and trust that God has forgiven you and will save you from the consequences of your sins because of what his Son, Jesus, has done.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
1 JOHN 1:9

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
ROMANS 10:13

A PRAYER OF COMMITMENT

"God, I know that I am a sinner and I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins on the cross and was raised from the dead for my sake. I now turn from my sins forever, and acknowledge that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour."

God won't let you go

God won't let you go

God is not like a person who will only love you if you behave well. God knows you are not perfect. God wants you to trust that He is holding you tighter than you could possibly hold Him. God is faithful, and has accepted you as His child, and will never stop loving and caring for you.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
ROMANS 10:9

I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.
JOHN 5:24

But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.
JOHN 20:31
