WHAT DO MY REGISTRATION FEES PAY FOR?
Conferences cost money. There are guest speakers to provide for, rooms and venue space to rent, transportation to provide, meals and coffee breaks, advertising and many other expenses. The registration fees cover these expenses so that the event can take place.
REFUNDS: If something comes up and I cannot attend the event, can I get a refund?
Yes, we can refund the fees collected, minus a small administration charge to offset the costs of processing.
NON-GIDEON ATTENDANCE: I have friends in the Toronto area that are not Gideons. Can they attend GIC 17?
The Friday evening session of GIC is open to the public. Guests are also welcome to join us for the Saturday Evening Banquet at a ticket charge of $50 to cover the cost of the dinner. Extra Banquet Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the office at 1.888.482.4253 ext. 405.
TRAVEL ASSISTANCE: I have to travel a considerable distance to get to Toronto. Is there any financial assistance available?
There is no direct travel subsidy, but there are other ways to share the load. A member's local chapter may choose to send delegates to the event, and may offer to assist with the costs. Members can contribute to the chapter fund, and the member(s) who is/are chosen to represent the chapter at the conference can be granted assistance for a portion or up to the entire costs of travel and accommodations and meals on the way. Such grants should be supported by the receipts from the travelling member. Members should also note that it is possible to obtain an income tax receipt for conference related expenses that are not directly reimbursed by the chapter.
