Peter Marshall

President

Peter is a visionary leader, world traveller, perspective-shifter, and gospel ambassador. Peter initially joined our staff in 2005 and was appointed President in 2011. He launched the initiative for our international arm, ShareWord Global, born from the desire to answer the universal cry for God’s Word. Prior to joining The Gideons, Peter and his wife Keli founded and ran a successful clothing company. They reside in Erin, Ontario with their lovable dog Rogan, and enjoy the outdoors, hiking and biking.

Kevin Cawthra
 

Kevin Cawthra

VP of Finance & Business

Kevin is the head of our Business team, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CA, CPA). He’s spent over 12 years in senior not-for-profit CFO and COO roles, and prior to that 4 years in the fields of public accounting, audit and taxation. He and his wife Helen lead their local Gideons chapter in Cambridge, Ontario; and they also have three sons in their family of five.

Derrick Mueller
 

Derrick Mueller

VP of Programs

Dr. Derrick Mueller comes to the Gideons as a seasoned leader with a breadth of experience and training. He has been active in ministry for over 30 years with over 20 in executive leadership, and has written several books. Derrick holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Leadership and Youth and Family studies, a Masters degree in Organizational leadership, and a bachelors of religious studies in communication and counselling. Within moments of meeting Derrick, you recognize his energy and passion for ministry. He and his wife Stacy live in St. Catherine’s and are both passionate about working with the broken hearted. Together they have a blended family of eight children and two grandchildren.

Giorgio Gori
 

Giorgio Gori

VP of Global Development

Giorgio brings a 20 year-track record of success in business, breakthrough marketing, and fundraising with market leaders like PepsiCo and Nestlé and not-for-profits like the Canadian Bible Society. For five years, he also headed up a community-based church. Giorgio helps people and organizations achieve their goals and dreams, with incredible results. He speaks (in five languages), authors, strategizes, mentors, and motivates. He now resides in Breslau, Ontario with his lovely wife Jacqueline.

VP Development and Marketing

Janet is our newest addition to the leadership team. She brings over 25 years of senior leadership experience and expertise in marketing, fundraising, sales and human resources in both the charitable and for-profit sectors. An energetic, results oriented leader she has a deep passion for sharing the word of God with others and bringing hope to the hopeless in a hurting world. Janet is married to Andrew, has 2 sons and lives in Puslinch, Ontario.

Michelle Peters
 

Michelle Peters

Director of Communications & Marketing

With her passion to get the gospel message out, Michelle is a perfect fit to manage our Communications department. She has over 10 years of experience in marketing and team management. Michelle comes from a background in both the oil and tech industries, as well as involvement in video production and media. She now calls Kitchener, Ontario home with her husband Ernie and their two dogs.

Kelvin Warkentin
 

Kelvin Warkentin

Director of Product Development

Kelvin has been with The Gideons since the fall of 2008 and has worn many hats, including design, writing, and management. He is currently responsible for producing contextualized Scripture tools to engage people all over the world with the truth and hope of the gospel with innovations like the NewLife app and Scripture magazines. Prior to coming The Gideons, Kelvin had 14 years of experience designing and writing in the Christian publishing and retail marketing world. He lives in Elmira, Ontario with his wife Julie and their dog, Sasha.

Hilda Wood
 

Hilda Wood

Director of Development & Supporter Services

Hilda is our resident expert on customer service, volunteer management, donor retention, project management and technology implementation. With more than 25 years non-profit experience, she’s also a church planter, fluent in Dutch, and a world traveller since she was born in the Curacao, Dutch West Indies. While Hilda now calls Caledon, Ontario home, her travels have given her a perspective and a deep care for those who are hurting around the world and need the gospel. Her husband, three children, and dog Bailey also hold a special place in her heart.
