As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP of Marketing & Fundraising is a strategic visionary who values creativity & innovation and understands the importance of philanthropy. The VP of Marketing & Fundraising manages the organization's portfolio of fundraising programs and brings their skills and experience to furthering the organization's aggressive revenue goals. A seasoned marketer and fundraiser, the VP of Marketing & Fundraising will oversee all of the organization's internal & external marketing and communications channels, ensuring strategies are developed and executed to inspire supporters and members in all God is doing through our ministry. Staff development through coaching and mentoring are also critical in this role, and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team the VP of Marketing & Fundraising will serve as a key contributor to building and developing our organization's culture.

Role Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team that drives the setting and execution of the organization's overall vision and strategy and represents TGIC | SWG on local, national and international levels.
  • Lead the organization's fundraising programs, overseeing the development and execution of strategies to meet and exceed the organization's aggressive fundraising goals through existing domestic revenue channels and the expansion of fundraising programs into the global market.
  • Oversee the development of a holistic supporter-centric approach and a supporter care strategy that provides our volunteers and supporters with an exceptional experience.
  • Initiate the development of strategies to effectively communicate the impact of the organization's work, with the goal of inspiring deeper engagement and support for the ministry's cause with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the organization's brand initiative, maintaining the brand integrity of both TGIC and SWG and strategically positioning the company as a trusted entity for donors and beneficiaries, while establishing the organization's status as an industry leader and ensuring the organization is operating optimally through proper management of brand assets, processes, systems, and tools.
  • Oversee the development of the organization's Scripture products and ministry & training resources, ensuring marketing strategies are created and implemented so that all programs, products and resources are efficiently and effectively promoted to and utilized by the organization's volunteers & supporters.
  • Lead in the development of strategies to engage donors and partners in meaningful ways that will inspire deeper engagement in our organization, with the goal of growing our donor base and cultivating existing supporters.
  • Develop, mentor and lead staff within the Fundraising & Marketing team.
  • Act as a champion for organizational culture by modeling servant leadership and the organization's Core Values, cultivating trust, collaboration, excellence and innovation among the team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has 5-10 years of experience in a Vice President or C-level role, with a proven track record of success in: leadership, management, staff mentorship, fundraising, marketing communications, strategy development & meeting and exceeding goals and objectives.

The Director of Global Development is responsible for overseeing the Global Development team including leading, training and managing Regional Managers, and for developing and cultivating international partners and churches to help achieve our international ministry objectives.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Effectively coach, mentor, support and develop global Regional Managers, by providing ongoing constructive feedback, one-on-one updates, training, effective delegation, and operational planning
  1. Lead regular and ad hoc staff meetings, devotions and key processes like budgeting and planning.
  2. Provide opportunities for staff feedback to encourage employee engagement, including implementing timely plans to respond to identified needs.
  3. Ensure effective stewardship and accountability of department resources, finances and people, consistent with annual operating plans, budgets and strategic plan.
  4. Model clear two-way communication of organizational issues and goals to direct reports.

Job Description

We are seeking a high-energy, passionate and experienced individual to join us in driving, growing, and managing our fundraising and development programs.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Direct Response and Digital Fundraising Manager will manage and grow all existing direct response fundraising programs, acquisition campaigns and digital fundraising initiatives.

Direct Response Programs

Oversees and manages the team responsible for growing our direct response programs within North America.  These programs currently include direct mail, integrated campaigns, donor acquisition initiatives and our expressions card programs.

Digital Fundraising

In a quickly developing and growing digital landscape, TGIC | SWG strives to be on the cutting edge as an attractive choice for Christian donors. In an effort to expand our digital relevancy and footprint, the Direct Response and Digital Fundraising Manager will drive, manage and oversee all digital fundraising initiatives.  This will drive better digital integration, holistic campaigns and increased donor acquisition opportunities.  Specifically, this role will oversee and grow our digital fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, grow our online giving opportunities, develop integrated campaigns, create and execute Peer to Peer and Crowdfunding initiatives.

Job Requirements

The Direct Response and Digital Fundraising Manager is responsible for growing our fundraising revenues and growing the overall number of donors who engage with us. The manager will oversee and manage a small team to develop, execute and measure fundraising campaigns and initiatives both on and off-line. Specifically, this role will be accountable for:

  • Contribute to the development of fundraising and marketing plans and strategies
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team to develop and execute all direct mail campaigns
  • Grow the expressions. card program with an aim to doubling revenue over the next 5 years
  • Plan, execute and optimize all web, SEO, email, social media and display advertising campaigns
  • Work with the Online and Public Relations Communications Coordinator to design, build, and maintain our social media presence
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against Key Performance Indicators
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on derived insights
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create digital marketing solutions for identified lead generation and acquisition strategies including retargeting efforts 
  • Influence and optimize user experience of our organizational website (manage the development of our web design) 
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
  • Optimize conversion points and user funnels
  • Collaborate with internal teams, agencies and other vendor partners
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Develop and execute all internal e-marketing, digital and social campaigns including P2P, Crowdfunding and Giving Tuesday

The Regional Manager (RM) is responsible to provide leadership to the operational aspects of the ministry within their region, with the goal of and accountability for achieving the annual goals and objectives with the support of the Area Leadership Team. The RM works to develop and support the implementation and achievement of strategic and operational plans, goals and priorities for the Districts and Chapters within their Region. 

The RM’s main objectives are to grow and strengthen the Gideon ministry, its membership and impact with local communities, churches, and partners, working alongside the Area Leadership Team to collaboratively facilitate the engagement of members in carrying out the ministry by providing coaching, technical assistance and personal involvement to members within the Area.

Established in 1911, the 105-year old ministry has rapidly transformed itself for growth and global impact.

TGIC continues to create innovative ways of reaching more people with the gospel, using tools like the NewLife app (newlife.bible), creating Scripture magazines like Hope, Light and Redemption, and launching a youth arm called SendMe (sendme.ca). In August 2015, TGIC launched their international brand, ShareWord Global. Reports to: Director of Domestic Engagement

Key Responsibilities 

• Implement, initiate and execute Operational and Strategic Plans for the achievement of Annual Ministry Targets.

• Build a collaborative working relationship with the Area Leadership Team, working together to monitor ministry progress and to jointly support the Area focus and priorities, with the accountability of ensuring at annual goals and objectives are achieved.

• Support the members in their region and engage them with resources to achieve annual targets in four key areas of ministry: member recruitment, fundraising, church relations and Scripture Distribution.

• Lead in the development of the member training events and initiatives, ensuring the agenda and content reflects the direction of the national objectives of the ministry.

• Resource and train members in the recruitment of new members, while remaining actively engaged in personally recruiting of members. Host recruitment events and generate recruitment initiatives alongside members in the regional area.

• Provide mentorship to leaders within the region, cultivating potential leaders for service within Chapter, Area and National leadership roles

• Fundraising: assist and resource members in organizing fundraising events to meet annual fundraising targets for the region. Speak at events as requested/required.

• Church Relations: develop partnerships with local churches and pastors. Speak in churches on behalf of the Gideon ministry

• Scripture Distribution: provide training on and promote domestic and international Scripture distribution programs to members.

Position Purpose

The Domestic Engagement Coordinator supports the Director of Domestic Engagement who leads a passionate team of Regional Managers that are responsible for delivering programs and training to TGIC’s 3,500 volunteer members across Canada. The Domestic Engagement team facilitates the organization’s objectives in evangelism, Scripture distribution, member fundraising, church partnerships and volunteer training and development.

Job Type: Full time (5 days a week) at TGIC | SWG Head Office in Guelph, Ontario.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking an energetic and gifted individual to join the Domestic Engagement team. The candidate must be detail oriented, extremely organized, have the ability to manage and distribute information, be administratively minded and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects and initiatives. This individual will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to: administrative support for the Director of Domestic Engagement and team of Regional Managers, administrative coordination for events and conferences, processing and compiling weekly reporting on all Department activities, coordinating resource inventory and administrative tasks supporting the participant & ministry engagement process. Excellence in customer service is valued and pertinent in all activities.

Job Requirements

The Domestic Engagement Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist and support the Director and Department with administration and coordination of all Department activities. Responsibilities may vary, but include the following:

  • Support for the Director of Domestic Engagement:
    • Calendar management and booking appointments & meetings
    • Assisting with the development of the Department’s Tactical and Operational Plans

Experience:

  • 3-5 years demonstrated administrative coordination ability in a business or non-profit environment.
  • Proven experience in project coordination, and a team mentality in accomplishing objectives.
  • Post-Secondary Education, Office Administration/Assistant diploma, and Project Management certification an asset.

Supporter Services Administrator - Gift Processing

Location: Guelph, ON
Term: Full-time

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Supporter Services Administrator - Gift Processing, this role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Supporter Services and is part of the Supporter Services Phone Specialist and Gift Processing Administrator team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide premier customer service to all those who donate to TGIC through data entry and gift processing. In addition, this role is responsible for opening and distributing mail, bank deposits, balancing and inputting chapter treasurer reports, constituent updates, phone donations and providing back up support to the Phone Specialist team. This role is critical to the satisfaction and retention of those donating to TGIC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent customer service and communication, interacting with donors, members and the general public.
  • Opening, sorting and distributing incoming mail
  • Data entry and processing of all credit card donations
  • Follow up on declined single gift credit card donations
  • Data entry of cash and cheque donations received via mail
  • Processing Online Donations
  • Balancing, processing and data entry of Chapter Treasurer's Reports
  • Preparation of bank deposits
  • Filing of source documents
  • Scanning of cheques
  • Receive ministry donations via telephone
  • Updating donor information in Raiser's Edge including but not limited to: address changes, deceased donors, do not mail and returned mail.
  • Liaison with Finance team for specialized donations
  • Responsible for the data entry of specialized donations i.e. Direct Deposit gifts, estate gifts, GIK, bank wires, etc.
  • Process chapter fund gifts, expense claims, sponsorships and year-end audit gifts
  • Administrative duties

  • Organized with accurate, efficient data entry and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Self Starter with the ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Effective time management with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be adaptable to new and changing situations and priorities

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 + years office experience within a fast paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and a Apple MAC environment is considered an asset
